How to plan a Las Vegas show night
Expanded planning answers reviewed October 22, 2026 (Pacific).
Which show fits an adults-only evening or a family plan?
The current official “O” page sets a minimum age of 5 and an approximately 90-minute runtime. Absinthe’s official page specifies ages 18+ and approximately 80 minutes. Check the production’s current age and entry rules before buying; a familiar title alone does not establish suitability.
Book a specific performance, not just the name of a venue. The best plan leaves enough room for ticket checks, dinner and the journey to the correct entrance.

Start with the official calendar
Sphere’s official shows page lists its performances and experiences. Bellagio’s entertainment information identifies “O” by Cirque du Soleil as an aquatic production at the resort. The Smith Center has its own performance calendar. These are different starting points: compare the production and date you actually want, then follow the official venue or producer’s ticket link.
Decide what matters about the seat
Open the seating plan for the specific performance. Compare the section, row, view description and any restrictions shown by the official ticket seller. If you need accessible seating, companion seats or another accommodation, use the venue’s published contact route before buying. A generic “good seat” label cannot establish whether a seat fits your needs.
Work backward from admission
- Confirm the performance date, start time and door or entry instructions. Distinguish the venue’s opening time from the start of the show.
- Check age requirements and any production-specific advisories on the official page. Do not infer suitability for children from a photograph or a familiar title.
- Read ticket delivery, identification, bag and re-entry information. Keep the confirmation somewhere accessible when you travel.
- Leave a buffer between dinner and the show. Plan transport to the correct entrance and avoid assuming that two nearby-looking resorts share a quick walking route.
Compare the final ticket product
Compare seats with the same performance time and ticket quantity. Include the fees shown at checkout, then read cancellation, exchange and late-arrival conditions. If a package includes tickets, establish whether you can select seats and when they will be assigned. This guide does not quote current ticket prices, promise availability or identify a cheapest seller.
Keep the rest of the evening flexible
One confirmed performance can anchor an evening without filling every hour around it. Put a nearby meal and a backup plan on your shortlist, then decide which needs a separate reservation.
